step 1: let intuition flow.step 2: pain it, blue.step 3: make own paint.step 4: finding truth.explanation: ultramarine is the truth. ultramarine is the universe, transmitter of light. It fascinated me, the moment i saw it.I became obsessed. Ultramarine 'catches' 'work' and 'touch' solely by being. It enchants you. it lures you in and captivates.i was quite unable to work and touch myself, i needed theories in order to do so.Because ultramarine blue doesn't need all that to work, it needs nothing, it is the truth. Therefore i wanted to make a painting true void of blue. a la Rothko. Or even more so, Yves Klein.(I swear i didn't know about IKB when i started this).unfortunately i failed, yet again. First, i was dissatisfied with the paint i had. i decided to make my own.now i don't seem to be able to make my own paint work. I tried it on paper, but the brushmarks showed too much.then i painted it over a true black painting i once did (when i thought that black was the truth lmao). Then it got super dark and the whole idea of trasnmitter of light and the captivation fell away.I even put a thick drop of tempera on it and photographed it why it was still wet, so you could see what colour it was supposed to have.It only looked how i wanted when it was still wet. Maybe its because of the tempera, which reacts on the colour beneath it? i don't know..
